Parking Lot Expansion at Grafton High School Using Asphalt Millings

Grafton High School needed more room for game day traffic. Soccer matches and baseball games were pulling in big crowds, but the parking situation just wasn't keeping up. Rather than leaving fans circling or parking on the grass, we stepped in with a practical fix.

The solution came down to smart material use. We brought in leftover asphalt millings - recycled material from old paved surfaces - and used them to expand the parking areas near both the soccer and baseball facilities. Millings are a great option for this kind of work. They compact well, hold up to heavy vehicle traffic, and cost a fraction of new asphalt. For a school budget, that matters.

The grading work here was key. Before any millings go down, the ground has to be properly prepared and leveled. An uneven base leads to soft spots, rutting, and standing water after rain. We made sure the surface was graded correctly so water moves away from the parking area instead of pooling in it - something that makes a real difference in how long the surface holds up.

What we ended up with is a solid, usable parking area that serves the community every time the Grafton Spoilers take the field. It's the kind of job that doesn't get a lot of fanfare, but the parents, coaches, and fans showing up on game day will notice the difference right away.

This is also a good example of how recycled materials can solve real problems without unnecessary expense. Whether it's a school parking lot, a driveway extension, or a private parking pad - if the ground needs work, we can put together a solution that fits the space and the budget.
